DIY Phone Case Kit: The Christmas Gift for Someone Creative

A DIY phone case kit from The Charmé Edit, a Christmas gift for someone creative

A DIY phone case kit is a Christmas gift that's also an activity. Instead of handing over a finished case, you give someone everything they need to make their own in about 15 to 30 minutes. Kits start at £22. There's one rule that matters for a gift, the gel has a shelf life, so read the timing section before you order.

What's in a DIY Phone Case Kit

Every DIY phone case kit includes a silicone phone case in the phone model and colour you choose, silicone gel, a tweezer, a spreader, alcohol pads and plastic gloves, with a step-by-step tutorial. If they've never made a case before, our beginner-friendly DIY phone case guide walks through the process.

Build Your Own Kit, From £22

The build your own DIY phone case kit starts at £22, but the charms are not included, you choose them separately from the charms collection, from £2. We recommend 12 to 20 charms for the best look, at least 2 grande charms, mostly midi charms and a few mini charms. It's the best pick when you know exactly what they like.

Themed Kits, £42

If you'd rather not choose charms, the themed kits include a curated set of charms in the style shown, and cost £42, including Eros Light, Burning Heart, Coral Dreams and Moonlit Veil. You can still add extra charms from the charms collection.

Making It a Group Gift

For a family, a friend group or a party, the Charmé DIY Party Kit bundle gives each guest their own kit with 12 charms to choose, plus complimentary filler charms. It's £36 per kit for 6 to 7 kits, £34 for 8 to 9, and £32 for 10 to 12. If you'd rather do it in person, see our Christmas party workshop in London.

Timing It for Christmas: The 1-Week Gel Rule

Kits go out within 2 to 3 working days, plus shipping, see how early to order for Christmas. The important part is that the gel should be used within 1 week of receiving it, to prevent oxidation. If it will arrive well before Christmas, it can be stored in the fridge to help keep it fresh. After making, the surface dries in 24 hours and the case is fully cured in 2 to 3 days.
