Christmas Gifts for Her: Tote Bags She'll Actually Use

A cream canvas tote bag with olive green straps from The Charmé Edit, a Christmas gift idea for her

The best gifts for her are usually the ones that get picked up every single day. A canvas tote fits that description, and with a few personal touches it goes from a nice bag to something that's clearly hers. Here's how to choose one that suits her.

Why a Tote Bag Works as a Gift for Her

Every one of our totes is made from 100% organic cotton canvas at 46 x 31 x 15cm, with an inside pocket, an outside pocket and a keychain hook. That's roomy enough for a 13-inch laptop, a water bottle and everyday essentials, so it suits a commute, a weekend away or the weekly shop equally well. There's no size to get wrong, which makes it easier than clothing.

Match It to Her Week

Our ready-designed sets, all £48, are each built around a patch theme, so you can match one to what she actually does. The Tennis Bag for weekends on court, the Travel Bag for someone who's always going somewhere, the Grocery Bag for the one who does the big shop, or the Beach Bag for her next holiday. For more matching ideas, see our Christmas gift guide.

Make It Hers

If you'd rather build the design yourself, the Customise your Everyday Tote, from £32, lets you choose your own patches from the patches collection, £3 each. Pick pieces that nod to her interests, a favourite food, a place she loves, a hobby. The Tennis Bag and Travel Bag also let you swap the stitched letters for her initials.

Add a Small Extra

A bag charm, from £24, clips onto the keychain hook and turns the tote into a proper matched gift.
