In October 2026, Fenty Beauty and CASETiFY launched a MagSafe holder for a Gloss Bomb and blotting powder, and Dior released the Médaillon, a lip balm in a jewelled case that sticks to your phone. Your phone is the one accessory you carry everywhere, so it makes sense that beauty brands want space on it. Over the last two years, the back of the phone has gone from plain plastic to a small display shelf for lip gloss, balm and powder. Here's how the trend started, what's launched this season, and how to wear it in a way that suits you.
Where it started: the rhode lip case
In February 2024, rhode launched its Lip Case, a phone case with a moulded slot on the back that holds a Peptide Lip Treatment or Lip Tint. It went viral after Hailey Bieber shared a mirror selfie with the case, and other beauty brands joked about it online before launching their own ideas. rhode later added a Snap-On Lip Case that's more compact.
The appeal was simple: no more digging through a bag for your lip product, and a phone that looks like part of your look.
October 2026: Fenty Beauty x CASETiFY
Fenty Beauty's collection with CASETiFY launched on 28 October 2026 with 29 pieces. The headline item is a MagSafe 2-in-1 holder that carries Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer and Invisimatte Instant Setting + Blotting Powder on the back of a compatible phone. This festive season: the Dior Médaillon

The catch: bulk and practicality
